Energy Performance Certificate for dwelling (EPC)
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) gives home owners, tenants and buyers information on the energy efficiency of their property. It gives the building a standard energy and carbon emission efficiency grade from A to G, where A is the most efficient. An EPC certificate is required from April 2008 by law when a building is constructed, sold or put up for rent. An EPC certificate for letting purposes is valid for 10 years. An EPC must be made available to a potential homebuyer free of charge.
Energy Performance Certificate for Commercial buildings (EPC‐SBEM)
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is intended to inform potential buyers or tenants about the energy performance of a building, so they can consider energy efficiency as part of their investment or business decision to buy or occupy that building. An EPC will provide an energy rating for a building which is based on the performance potential of the building itself (the fabric) and its services (such as heating, ventilation and lighting). An EPC certificate is required from April 2008 by law when a building is constructed, sold or put up for rent. An EPC certificate is valid for 10 years.
SAP Calculation (SAP)
On construction Domestic Energy Performance Certificate for dwelling (EPC‐SAP). From 6 April 2008 it will be law to provide an Energy Performance Certificate for all new and newly built homes, new extensions and conversions that are completed after that date. SAP calculations will gives information on the building’s energy efficiency.
